On its May 20 program, Good Day Columbus invited Coffee Buyer Brandon Bir to talk about coffee rust and coffee sourcing. He also demonstrated home brewing techniques using two different hand-pour systems.
After discussing coffee rust and its effect on Central American coffees, Brandon highlighted coffees from two of the farms he has visited: our Friend2Farmer El Socorro, Honduras and Finca El Pintado, which comes from the only organic coffee farm in Antigua, Guatemala. As he explained, we visit several coffee farms each year to build relationships with coffee farmers.
He also demonstrated how to brew coffee-house-quality at home using the Chemex coffee brewer and prepared coffee using the Hario v60 for hosts Carolyn Bruck and Dana Turtle, who appreciated the chocolate notes of the Guatemalan El Pintado.
A video clip from the show is available on the Fox 28 website.
Well done, Brandon!
