870 Coffee Co. Brews Coffee and Community in Mountain Home

In a quiet corner of Mountain Home, Arkansas, something exciting is happening — and it smells a lot like espresso.
At 10 Paul Wood Lane, the new 870 Coffee Co. is celebrating local roots, handcrafted drinks, and big dreams.
The independent coffee shop officially opened in September. It celebrated its Oct. 28 grand opening with drink specials, giveaways, and a warm welcome to a community that’s already showing up in full support.
“We’ve had so many people stop in once and come back the next day with a friend,” said co-owner Myka Huett. “That tells us we’re doing something right, and we were really excited to celebrate with everyone.”
The coffee is winning rave reviews. “Fresh ground beans from world famous, award winning roaster gives these coffees the best flavor!” wrote one Local Guide.
From Barista to Business Owner
For Myka, opening a coffee shop has been years in the making. She started as a barista at age 17 and worked in several shops over the years — including four years at Crazy Llama Coffee in Joplin, Missouri, where she first discovered Crimson Cup coffee.
“I worked with Crimson Cup’s product for four years and knew the quality,” she said. “It’s something different from what most shops offer, and I wanted to bring that to Mountain Home.”
While working full-time in orthopedic trauma, she kept picking up shifts behind the bar — never straying too far from the coffee world. “I love the process, the people, and the connections that happen across the counter,” she said.
When it came time to launch 870 Coffee Co. with her husband, Caleb, they turned to our 7 Steps to Success program, a proven system that has helped over 300 entrepreneurs open independent coffee shops across the U.S.
“Crimson Cup gave us the structure to bring our vision to life,” said Myka. “I feel very welcomed and have no problem reaching out to Heather Syx and Steve Bayless when I have questions”.
Coffee for the Community
The shop, located at 10 Paul Wood Lane, offers both a cozy indoor space and a drive-thru for busy mornings on the go. And while the drinks are getting plenty of buzz, the real draw might be the Huetts themselves.
They’ve introduced themselves to neighboring businesses with samples and a smile, hoping to build a local following rooted in connection.
“We’re proud to be local,” Myka said. “This shop reflects who we are and what we care about — quality coffee and real connection.”
The couple plans to host regular community events, giving neighbors a reason to stop by beyond just their caffeine fix.
