matcha 2013 webNow, Crimson Cup customers can enjoy Matcha green tea, the oldest and finest variety of green tea from Japan. The mother of all Japanese green tea, Matcha has been used as a meditational drink by Zen Buddhist monks for more than 800 years.

To increase chlorophyll content, Matcha tea leaves are grown slowly in shaded tea plantations. The fresh leaves are handpicked, dried and ground by low-friction granite stone mills into an ultra-fine, jade green powder

When Matcha powder is brewed in hot water, the result is a unique, creamy, velvety, full-bodied cup of premium green tea – extremely high in antioxidants, amino acids and other nutrients.

Served hot, iced or frozen, Crimson Cup’s Matcha Madness green tea is a delicious and nutritious treat. Try it today at the Crimson Cup Coffee House, 4541 N High Street in Clintonville, or at one of our affiliated independent coffee houses near you.

  1. The description could be taken to mean that historically, matcha comes from Japan, or it could mean that you source your matcha green tea from Japan. Is it both? I’m particularly wondering where your green tea is grown. Thanks
