A Dream 25 Years in the Making
The Nook is the dream-turned-reality of Jenn Moore, who spent 25 years moving every few years with her husband Shannon’s military career.
After years of imagining the perfect neighborhood coffee shop, Jenn finally got the chance to put down roots — and pour coffee— in a community she loves.
Shannon, who is still on active duty at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, supported the dream every step of the way. Together, they created a space that feels personal, welcoming, and made for connection.

Inside The Nook, you’ll find a full lineup of espresso drinks, teas, and iced favorites—including their best-seller, the Nook Mocha. It’s rich, smooth, and already becoming legendary with local guests.
The shop specializes in iced and frozen drinks, and every cup is brewed with award-winning Crimson Cup coffee. Whether you’re meeting a friend, grabbing something to-go, or looking for a quiet spot to chill, The Nook is serving up something special every day of the week.
From Dream to Grand Opening with the 7 Steps to Success
Jenn and Shannon learned how to open a coffee shop through our 7 Steps to Success program. This step-by-step coffee shop startup consulting program helped them navigate everything from shop design to barista training.
“The wisdom both Heather Syx and Steve Bayless have shared is totally priceless,” Jenn said. “Good people – and the best coffee!”
Heather, a 7 Steps customer growth manager, worked closely with Jenn during weekly startup calls. Steve, a project manager and trainer, led the team through hands-on barista training before opening day. The support didn’t just help launch the business — it built confidence.
