There’s nothing better than watching a local coffee shop grow — except maybe being part of that journey. And this month, we’re feeling extra proud as 13 independent coffee shops in 7 states celebrate anniversaries with Crimson Cup!

From first birthdays to 13-year milestones, each of these shops is built on passion, creativity and a love for their community.

Whether they’re brewing your favorite latte, hosting a student study session or handing you a smile on the way to work, these coffeehouses make their towns warmer, more welcoming places.

• Center of the Square – Oxford, Miss. – 5 years

• Sweeten Creek Coffee – Asheville, N.C. – 5 years

• The Branch Coffeehouse – Greensburg, Ind. – 4 years

• Cadence Coffeehouse & Creperie – Niles, Ohio – 3 years

• Timber Creek Coffee – Myerstown, Pa. – 2 years

• Cups of Joy – Wilson, N.C. – 1 year

And a special shoutout to Cpl. Ray’s Coffee, Stoked Coffee, and Cups of Joy — these shops are part of multi-location ownership groups, showing that small doesn’t have to stay small when you’ve got a great team and a little help along the way.

Spotlight on Cups of Joy in Wilson, North Carolina

One of the most heartwarming stories this year? Cups of Joy, celebrating their first year under new ownership.

Chris and Tanya Dunn took over the Wilson, N.C., shop in early 2024, and with a little help from our 7 Steps to Success program, they didn’t just keep things running — they grew! Later that year, they opened a second Cups of Joy location inside Wilson Medical Center.

“We saw this as a tremendous chance to grow Cups of Joy and serve even more people in Wilson,” said Chris. “Crimson Cup’s step-by-step support helped us every step of the way.”

Their new hospital location serves as a pick-me-up for nurses, doctors, and families, while their original shop keeps building community the way it always has: one cup, one conversation, one smile at a time.

“The framework Crimson Cup offers makes everything streamlined and simple,” Chris added. “Their ongoing guidance was especially valuable during our soft opening.”
