Angie’s Sugar Buzz Named Best Business of the Year in Sandwich, Il.

When Angie Davis opened Angie’s Sugar Buzz Bakery in 2014, she dreamed of creating a cozy, welcoming spot where the Sandwich, Illinois, community could gather over sweet treats and great conversation. Fast-forward to today, when that dream has earned her one of the town’s highest honors.
Angie’s Sugar Buzz Bakery was named Best Business of the Year by the Sandwich Area Chamber of Commerce. And we couldn’t be prouder to call Angie a Crimson Cup customer!
“It’s such an honor,” said Angie. “I truly love this community and can’t imagine being anywhere else. I hope to be a staple here for many years to come — making sweet memories!”
A Buzz-Worthy Community Favorite
Known for its rustic charm and a mouthwatering menu of donuts, cookies, muffins, and cakes, Angie’s Sugar Buzz has become a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. But it’s not just the desserts that keep people coming back — it’s the atmosphere.
“We invite customers in with a warm smile and hope that they stay awhile,” Angie said. “You can work or play here — all while indulging in a sweet treat.”
Beyond the bakery case, Angie and her team are deeply woven into the Sandwich community. They give back at every turn, from school fundraisers to nonprofit events.
“Our community supports us, and I believe it’s important to support them in return,” Angie said.
Brewing Bigger Dreams with Crimson Cup
In 2021, Angie expanded Sugar Buzz to offer a full line of award-winning coffee and espresso drinks, roasted by Crimson Cup. A fellow coffee shop owner introduced her to our 7 Steps to Success consulting program — and from there, things took off.
“I always wanted something like Central Perk from Friends — a local hangout where people feel at home,” she said. “Crimson Cup helped me bring that vision to life.”
From recipes and training to pricing strategies and equipment, the 7 Steps program gave Angie the tools and confidence to grow.
“I couldn’t have done it on my own. I tried. The support is amazing,” she said. “It’s a no-brainer. Do it. Listen to their advice and get at it.”
A Recipe for Success (and a Little Advice)
This isn’t the first time Angie’s Sugar Buzz has made headlines. The bakery has also earned the Illinois Made designation, been featured on Chicago’s Best, and taken home multiple “Best Of” wins for both its bakery items and its coffee.
What’s the secret behind all this success? Angie keeps it simple: “Be in it to win it. Take on the challenges and stay positive.”
