This September, we’re proud to raise a cup to 16 independent coffee shops in 8 states as they celebrate anniversaries with Crimson Cup.
From first-year celebrations to nearly two decades in business, these shops reflect the power of local entrepreneurship — and what’s possible with expert support.
Each owner learned how to open a coffee shop through our 7 Steps to Success program, which has helped them continue to grow throughout the years.

Wired Coffee Bar in Willard, Ohio, celebrates 19 years. Since 2006, Wired Coffee has become a local favorite known for warm hospitality and consistent quality.
Jitters Coffee House in Millersburg, Ohio, marks 13 years of fueling local connections with craft coffee and community.
The New Common Grounds Coffee House in Carbondale, Illinois, and French Express Coffee House in Kannapolis, North Carolina, each celebrate 12 years in business.
Lavish Boutique in Jasper, Alabama, celebrates 9 years, continuing to blend fashion and coffee culture in a unique boutique café experience.
Penny’s Perks in Dowell, Illinois, turns 8, serving up farm-fresh eats and delicious espresso drinks in Jackson County.
The Grounds Coffee Café in Stafford, Virginia, celebrates 7 years of bringing specialty coffee to its Northern Virginia community.
Adams Flying Pig Coffee House in Wheelersburg, Ohio, celebrates 5 years of coffee and community.
Rare Bird Emporium in Murphy, North Carolina, also marks 5 years, offering a welcoming space for coffee lovers, local artisans and boutique shoppers.
Humble Texan Coffee in Vernon, Texas, reaches its 4th anniversary, known for its warm community atmosphere and growing reputation.
Smoke-N-Beans Coffee Bar (McArthur, Ohio), The Sanity Mug (Port Lavaca, Texas), and Black Hawk Coffee Co. (Oakland, Maryland) are each celebrating 3 years of growth and customer engagement.
Trek Coffee Co. in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is celebrating two years and making a name for itself through eco-conscious values and a commitment to giving back.
Bee Happy Coffee in Cadiz, Kentucky, and Conrad Coffee Cup in Conrad, Iowa, are each celebrating their first anniversary this month. Both shops opened in September 2024 with support from Crimson Cup’s 7 Steps team.
Growing Beyond One Storefront
Several of these shops have expanded beyond their original locations, a huge achievement in today’s small business landscape. French Express Coffee House now operates in three North Carolina cities: Kannapolis, China Grove and Salisbury. Adams Flying Pig Coffee House recently added a second location in Ohio, and Black Hawk Coffee Co. expanded into nearby McHenry, Maryland.
